2019 Reflections

Many thanks to everyone who was part of my musical journey in 2019. The year started out with the long-awaited (or at least long delayed?) release of Tales from Earth Incorporated which some of you helped crowd fund back in 2016 or 2017. I could not have gotten this album done without you! It was fun signing all the CDs and mailing them to you, often with a batch of Dan Sheehan Conspiracy and even Banter CDs along with them!

In addition to the album release, there were some great shows, ranging from band performances including at conferences such as APAP and APME, to my August solo tour of the UK and Spain (which also included some in-house performances for friends in Spain and relatives in Ireland, which I visited between UK tour legs). Although a solo tour, I actually got to perform with a range of great guests from my wife Sherry to my young cousins in London to Picnic Area guitarist Andy Callen. At the Edinburgh Fringe songwriter circle it was great having some of the other writers accompany me a bit and it was an honor to share the stage with Andy Krikun, Sean McLaughlin and Annie Booth.

The year culminated with a really fun awards ceremony put on by the New Jersey based music organization Elephant Talk, who put on awesome concerts in South Jersey helping autistic kids with music therapy. I was honored to be named “Songwriter of the Year,” the highest songwriting award given at the ceremony.

Here’s to hoping we can continue the excitement in 2020!!!
