New video: Kimberley

Upon the announcement by ZImbabwean dictator Robert Mugabe that he is stepping down from power, we put together this lyric/photo video of “Kimberley” from the forthcoming Tales From Earth, Inc. album. “Kimberley,” named after the Kimberley Protocol to stop the trafficking of blood diamonds, is about Mugabe’s use of blood diamonds to fund his regime, and tells the story of a boy “torn from school to work as a government slave,” forced to work in the mines to support Mugabe’s dictatorship.

“Kimberley” is performed by Dan on guitars and vocals, Dave Krusen on drums, Patrick Moraz on keyboards, and Kevin Nathaniel on Zimbabwean instruments (mbira and hosho).
